Spotlight on Zak: A Structural Engineer!

Zak’s career at co-elevate began in a unique way. When he first connected with the team, there were no positions available at his level, but his skills and potential made a lasting impression. Just a few months later, co-elevate reached out to offer him a position—a testament to both his extraordinary talent and co-elevate's commitment to exceptional hires.

Since joining, Zak has embraced rapid growth and taken on substantial responsibilities, including becoming a Scrum Master, receiving his seal as a professional engineer in Ontario, mentoring the next generation of engineers, and leading significant projects.

A true advocate for mentorship, Zak was recognized for embodying the company’s core value, Our Strength is the Sum of Our Parts. He not only took the time to guide his teammates through steel stud design but went a step further by creating and sharing a tutorial video with the entire team. By making his knowledge accessible to everyone, he strengthened the collective expertise of the group.

Among his many projects, Zak has had the opportunity to work on unique and complex challenges; from designing grain elevator distribution towers in the Midwest to retrofitting a 100-year-old warehouse into a modern restaurant. His first project as a stamping engineer, a long-term care facility for People Care in Delhi, Ontario, was especially meaningful to him. Zak felt a deep sense of impact and fulfilment, knowing that his work contributed to a much-needed facility serving the community.

One of Zak’s favourite aspects of co-elevate is its collaborative and transparent approach to project management. The company’s propriety agile system ensures that every team member’s workload is visible and shared—an unconventional system to what is being adopted by the engineering consulting industry.

For those looking to accelerate their careers in a supportive, team-oriented environment, Zak believes co-elevate offers the perfect foundation for growth and success.
