STRUCTURAL ENGINEER (P.ENG.)

Are you a talented Structural Engineer looking for an exciting new opportunity? We're on the hunt for someone just like you to join our team! As a Structural Engineer, you'll get to work on and design a variety of challenging projects ranging from buildings to industrial facilities. You'll collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other team members to ensure that our structures are not only safe and efficient but also innovative and practical. [ a day in the life of a structural engineer at co-elevate ]

  • Attend a stand-up meeting with your scrum team to discuss yesterday’s challenges and plan for the day’s tasks.

  • Contribute to the development of less experienced staff by providing engineering guidance and reviewing calculation packages.

  • Run computer model simulation and hand verification on multi-storey structures under the guidance of a seasoned professional engineer.

  • Design structures in various building materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry

  • A daily break for a game of table tennis or foosball is always welcomed.

  • Attend one of co-elevate’s group events such as potlucks, lunch & learns, book club, etc.

  • Participate in one of co-elevate’s charity causes such as blood drives, toy drives, food drives, or seasonal in-house charity events.

  • Conduct drawing review to ensure conformance to designs and seal drawings as needed.

  • At the end of a long day, it is commonplace for our leadership to send staff members home to ensure work-life balance.

[ what we are looking for in a structural engineer ]

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (or eligible in short order)

  • Experienced in the design of multiple structure types and materials (steel, wood, masonry, concrete, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of applicable Canadian Standards and Codes (OBC, NBC, CSA Standards, etc.)

  • Experienced in the design and construction of multi-storey structures

  • Able to learn new structure types, heights, and configurations

  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, and RISA3D

  • Creativity and innovation in finding solutions

  • Capable of mentoring, guiding, and providing oversight to junior engineers

  • Willing to work in-office (London, ON)
